Madness! As if such a thing were possible!
I just want to point out that if Chris Redfield was black, Asian, Indian, Arab, or a woman, I doubt anyone would have anything to say about Resident Evil 5. I honestly see no spark of racism in the trailers that have been released; all I see is a game that looks like a successor to RE4 and that will be as much fun as such a concept suggests. Granted, I was worried when I saw a Caucasian fighting hordes of Africans, but I didn't see, as you might expect, a white man killing black people. I saw something that I was afraid might put the industry in upheaval.
More than anything I'm sickened by the misunderstanding of the situation and the way it's become overblown and will probably continue to get bigger. Somebody in the black community says it's racist, somebody in the gamer community takes offense to that comment, someone in the black community takes offense that the gamer took offense... Eventually it leads to a cesspool of shit-talking with no exit because neither side is willing to admit it might be wrong.
So, Springer's Final Thoughts are that people are stupid and they need to stop getting angry over simple things and taking that anger out on others.
